Welcome to our Active Parenting certified classes facilitated by educators Amber Boydston and Mac Smiff. We offer in-person and virtual trainings monthly (see calendar for standing trainings) as well by request. We are based in Portland, Oregon and are able to travel (additional travel fees apply) within and outside of the US. Materials included - in webinar and/or in-person and upon completion certificates are provided along with an evaluation to support the ongoing learning of the community.
Our educational and community centred Cooperative Co-Parenting through separation or divorce classes are designed to provide valuable guidance and support to parents who are navigating the complexities of raising children together after a separation or divorce. These classes offer essential tools and strategies to help parents effectively communicate, collaborate and make decision in the best interest of their children. By focusing on topics such as conflict resolution coparenting boundaries, child development, and creating a positive co-parenting environment, these classes aim to foster healthy relationships between co-parents and support the well-being of the children involved. Through these educational sessions, parents can learn to work together harmoniously, minimise conflicts, and create a stable and nurturing environment for their children to thrive despite the challenges of co-parenting.
Our Active Parenting first five years community focused educational class will support adults caring for young ones in attaining the skills and practices needed to help lay a strong and positive foundation for the first few impressionable years in a child’s life. From birth through major developmental leaps, this in-depth class offers an array of tangible skills needed to help navigate the complexities and joys of supporting a youth with a developing brain and body that is highly influenced by the environment they’re in. This one-day class helps equip parents, caregivers, young adults and adults with the capability of meeting the
Supporting teens takes a village, and in our Active Parenting of teens one-day class we’ll explore the many ways we as adults can engage and support the unfolding brain development that is taking place inside of our young adults. With a frontal lobe that is still maturing, understanding how to best help teens navigate the complexities of budding adulthood while keeping their values at the forefront of their choices can feel like a complicated puzzle. Identifying time tested tools, practices and resources though lightens the perceived load and can empower adults to lean into the collective discomfort and excitement that is teenhood! You’ll leave this class wiser and inspired to connect in deeper and more thoughtful ways with the youth who grace your presence.
